Hi guys, We have finally finished the mapping for Tangent Wave 2. The reason why it took some time is because we have dramatically improved the organization of the functionalities in Mistika to allow the remapping using the Tangent Mapper app. This is not yet integrated into the current builds, because we still need to organize the Stereo3D FX and add more functionalities in our library to offer you more flexibility when remapping the panels. Everything related to Colour, Memories, Color Histories, Shapes, Keyers, Framing, etc is now much better organize for remapping the panels. We will include this as soon as we finished what we consider the basic library of …

Hi guys! In the first Open Beta versions of Mistika Boutique the VR Presets are not being installed. If you have Mistika VR installed you can load them from the same folder, if not, please download the attached file. It is not necessary to copy the folder at any specific location. To load a preset you can just drag and drop the file into the Timeline. This will load a VR Stitch effect that you can place on top of your camera stack. If you want to build your own stitch or learn more about how to manage your stitchs directly in Mistika Boutique, take a look to this masterclass: Enjoy Mistika! Cam…

A few days ago I spent some time in the hotkey editor of Mistika (accessible via the login screen) and discovered a myriad of interesting keyboard shortcuts, some of them quite useful. I started compiling some of the key ones for my own reference in a Google Sheet. Just a fraction of it, but gives you a flavor. Today I was looking to see if there's a better way to scroll up/down in the parameter tab on the left in the Visual Editor. I know you can scroll with 'right click - scroll'. That works great with a mouse or the pen. But doesn't work on the Wacom in touch mode so well. So I was looking for any keyboard short cuts to scroll the parameters up/down, an…

Hi guys, In the previous webinar session, we talked about some custom Fx that I prepared for skin selection and another one for beauty pass. I've combined both in a third one that isolates the skin and applies the Beauty Pass in some automatic way (although you can control the value from the Color Grade included in the stack, I've renamed to make it clear). Keep in mind that the skin selector is created for SDR images, so depending on the project can be more or less useful. I think what is really interesting is the fact you can play with these effects, change parameters and see how they work in order to understand a bit better the capabilities of Mistika. The…

Where are the raw parameters? I'm not seeing them anywhere for my Redcode clips. Is there a way to move the scopes to another monitor? It's not letting me drag them off of the main editor window to my 2nd screen.

Here are a few topics of things I do frequently and where I'm not 100% yet how to do in Mistika BT: 1) Use the base vector to key skin or some other element before any color correction, and then route that key to a later vector, possibly even combining two keys and adding a mask (similar to key mixer in Resolve tree). I've gotten it to work by enabling the extern key in the key tab and selecting the appropriate vector and alpha. But not sure I'm getting all the nuances and best practices. 2) Importing external EXR sequences from another roto software. I've been able to export the EXR and create the roto mask, but am not clear how to re-import the EXR files and u…

I think I am totally blind, since I am sure there must be function somewhere in Mistika. ? But is there a easy way to save a screen-grab from the current active frame? (without going through the output settings) Or even better map this to a button on the Tangent Elements? Very often I have to email screen-grabs to the DoP or Director for approval, so it would be really nice if there was as blazing fast solution.

Hi everyone! We've created an environment for testing your system performance capabilities. Basically, it contains a 4 seconds video with 80 layers of color correction created. There, you can remove layers until real-time playback is obtained or sound synchronization is achieved. You guys can find the environment attached in this post. It is a 1920x1080 and 24 fps timeline. The video file which you have to relink can be found here. This is how the environment looks like: It would be great if you can share with us your results, describing your system specifications and the maximum playback you obtain. This way, we can share useful informat…

I have quite a problematic bug which makes it hard to work with Mistika Boutique 8.10 System tested: iMac 2017 |8gb AMD 580 | MacOs 10.14.6 When I ty to edit a value on the left side of the interface, it is scaling the interface with a strobe affect. (flickering from normal to small size, see screenshot) Did a whole clean install of MacOs and Mistika Boutique, unfortunallly the problem is still there.

Since my current setup is getting annoyingly slow I am looking to buy or build a new machine around Mistika Boutique. The biggest issue I have is the fact that I love to work within MacOs and don't like the messy Windows interface. On the other hand I would have no problems building a Window machine because it save's me 50% of the total price compared to a new Mac Pro. My questions are: The MacPro Route - How will the support be for the new Mac Pro, since it is using a AMD GPU (Vega II with 32GB looks very promising) And wil the 'Afterburner' card be supported in the future? Since I got the feeling that Mistika is more Window's focused? The Wi…

What is the best way of comparing a reference offline cut against the current timeline. Here is what I’m doing for now. - Bringing the clip into the timeline, re-size it to the current proyect, make a group, lock the timeline in X and move the play head up and down to A/B the tracks. There most be another way. Bear in mind I’m doing this without a video board. Thanks Abel

I haven't been able to get my Tangent Wave 2 to work with Mistika Boutique... is there a config step that I might have missed? I followed the instructions in the document I found, launching the Tangent application and adding Mistika there. The app seems to be detecting Mistika, but the panel isn't connecting. It connects to Scratch without a hitch, so at least I know that the physical connections are good. Thans!

Hola! Here are some questions and suggestions all Color related... not in any specific order. Already mentioned in a separate post. Will be great to have dedicated Master controls for RGB adjustment that can be reset independently of individual RGB values. How about a Contrast control with S-Curve option? Will be awesome of the Color Grade node have a Temperature and Tint controls. Is the Color Grade node, aware of the incoming gamma curve? Thinking mostly about how the ranges are defined for better mapping of the Bands sections. I can see an advantage of at least have Video, Log or Linear as predefined presets for this matter. On the s…

I was wondering if there is an equivalent to Resolve's A/C mode and/or Avid's source/target in Symphony. Essentially a way of speeding up grading of multiple clips from the same source media file. We often see this in dialog scenes and or tutorials where there is a lot of cutting back and forth between two camera angles resulting in multiple clips from the same source file. One way of doing it in Mistika is to go to the Storyboard and create gangs for each camera angle, then solo that gang and propagate the color grade. That works fine, but it's a time consuming to setup the gangs. I think the equivalent to A/C mode would be if the story board had a sort fe…

Hi there. Just downloaded the Beta and it's all looking great so far. Does the download come with any of the VR camera preset .grp files? Also, is there anywhere online that has an in-depth tutorial of the VR Stitch node? I've had a look at the extensive Mistika VR tutorials and whilst some of the controls crossover it's difficult to apply those to the VR Stitch node and would be really great if there was a tutorial based purely for Boutique/Ultima. Thanks. WIll shout when/if I find any bugs! Rob.

I’m sure this is an easy one and I believe I have done it before. I have a track for grading the clips and another on top doing a global adjustment. How can I keep working on my grades track while viewing the result of the top one. Right now, even if I double click the top one, every time I go to the next clip the visual focus jumps down to the grades track. I am aware I can have a Display Filter doing the global adjustment, but want to be able to apply that adjustment in only some sections of the cut. Tx A

I spent some time replicating a recent beauty grade I did in Resolve in Mistika to make sure I understand the corresponding tools. Along the I learned a lot of details, but also came across a few things I'm missing. Several of these may exist, and I may just know exactly where they're hiding. Anyway, attached is the node graph from Resolve. It's a pretty typical graph that is replicated on each clip and then adjusted as needed. It largely divides the grade into two branches, one for background and one for skin which merge at the end. And also, all skin keys are sourced from the original balance node to avoid any cascading effects. I did manage to create a …

Would it be possible to get a short tutorial / example on how to use Mocha Pro. I tried a remove yesterday, and while Mocha Pro did it's job, I couldn't get the results back into Mistika. I know it's supported, but I must be doing something wrong. I first tried it on some 4K footage, to remove a small tattoo on person's arm. It was only 15 frames. I added the footage and the Mocha effect, it loaded fine, did the remove, closed Mocha and selected 'Render=yes' and 'Module=remove' and the UI becomes very unresponsive. Monitoring system activity it's not clear if it's rendering in the background or not. Eventually I got some partial output on on some frames. Th…

I set up one Sapphire transition (whiplash) between two clips, and used the "key in" and "key out" buttons to set the start and end transition amounts. That really didn't work; epic fail -- the transition amount didn't change at all throughout the transition. I switched to using autokey, and though I had to go back and forth an extra time since I couldn't find a way to get the start keyframe to work, I got that transition to work as I wanted to. So I went to another transition point where I wanted to use a Sapphire blur transition. Absolute fail; using autokey it insists on setting the transition amount to a constant, refusing to give me any transition animation. …

Right now I am setting up a Tangent Element Panel, which feels super useful in Mistika. From the documentation I read that for the best setup I need two more Bt Panels. My question is if I also get a second Kb panel can I also map this panel? Or with how many panels can I expand en keep on mapping? ( so I can build my own custom Arc ? )
