What is new in Mistika Workflows 10.14.16
Hi all, A new maintenance version of Mistika Workflows is now available, adding new stability improvements throughout the software. You can already find this version in the 'Downloads' tab of your Online SGO Account. Improvements The WAV node functionality has been extended to support ARM systems, addressing previous compatibility issues. This enhancement ensures seamless audio processing across different hardware architectures. The rndFile node now utilizes input media to resolve the new RND directory property. This improvement enhances the node's functionality by providing more accurate and context-aware directory resolution. A CaseInsensitive property has been added to the conform Filter. This new property provides users with more flexibility in filtering and matching operations, allowing for case-insensitive comparisons when needed. The Folder and Watcher components now use the default NC (Naming Convention) when their NC is empty. This enhancement ensures consistent behavior and prevents potential issues caused by undefined naming conventions. Fixes The packAudioTracks feature, which was previously missing in H26x transcoders, has been restored. This fix ensures proper audio track handling during H.264/H.265 transcoding processes. An unplanned issue that occurred when transcoding clips with routed audio channels has been resolved. This fix improves the stability and reliability of the transcoding process for complex audio setups. The WAV node now successfully exports files when the destination path contains spaces. This fix eliminates errors and ensures smooth file export operations regardless of path naming. The Framing node's Resolution property format has been corrected. This fix ensures that the resolution settings are properly recognized and applied during framing operations. An issue with incorrect length calculation for multisegment P2 megapacks has been addressed. This fix ensures accurate duration representation for complex P2 media structures. The Classify node now handles empty lists correctly, preventing empty outputs in such scenarios. This fix improves the node's robustness and ensures consistent behavior across various input conditions.

What is new in Mistika 11
Mistika Boutique 11 has a serious issue where moving the mouse from the Timespace to the pause button in the Recor Monitor area, or from the color grading interface to the pause button in the Record Monitor area, can cause the timeline to automatically play quickly, which is very frustrating. I don't know if it's a software bug or intentional.

Equirectangular to Cubemap pixel density preserving
Hi Maxime, Latlong is indeed a somewhat wasteful format; about 1/3 of the pixels are lost due to the high horizontal resolution at the poles. That said, it doesn't harm the image quality. Cubemaps are more efficient, but they can be tricky to use as a working format because of edge interpolation issues. Using them for final delivery, as you’ve done, is definitely the right call. Your current pipeline—working in latlong and delivering in cube—is the standard and safest way to go. As for the baking process, there is indeed a remapping of pixels using subpixel positions during the conversion. Mistika handles this via bicubic filtering, which, as you noted, shouldn't cause any noticeable degradation provided the 'pixels per degree' resolution remains consistent. You might see some minor impact on extremely fine details (like converging lines on a test chart), but you'll rarely encounter those in real-world footage.

Equirectangular to Cubemap pixel density preserving
Hi SGO team! Happy New Year ! I'd like to know how Boutique works when we apply VR View and VR Stitch to map camera fisheyes to LatLong (equirectangular) or Cube (cross or EAC). As you know, pixel density is not the same and an equirectangular rendering is more destructive than cubemap. For a new job, I need to work with cubema, but all my work was made on a a latlong mapping (masks, VR View Yaw/Pitch/Roll alignments, stabilisation, etc...). So, I can't just change latlong to cubemap on my first VR Stitch effect (mapping camera rushes). All the geometry modifications beyond couldn't work anymore! If I apply a cubemap at the end, respecting the pixel ratios (LatLong 16384x8192 -> Cube4x3 16384x12288), it seems I get the same definition when I check one face (4096x4096) than if I map firstable camera rushes in Cube 4x3... That means Boutique don't bake / burn pixels between a LatLong to Cubemap mapping with a VR View, wherever we use it ? I just wanted to be sure about that... Maxime - Paris

Mistika VR - Import Settings
Hi BauerDIT, I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Based on your description, it's possible the issue is tied to how the PTGui template is mapping the cameras inside Mistika VR. Make sure that you are working on a fisheye lens since it´s needed for proper stitching inside Mistika VR. To properly diagnose it, we’ll need to take a closer look at your exact inputs and the PTGui calibration. That will allow us to verify whether the layout, any configuration, or mapping values are forcing the images into a smaller projection area. Would you mind opening a support ticket and sharing a short sample of the iPhone 17 Pro ProRes 4K clips and the PTGui project file (.pts)? Once we have those, we can replicate your setup precisely on our test systems and pinpoint which configuration needs adjusting. In most cases the fix is straightforward once we see the actual mapping. Looking forward to your ticket! Best regards, Cesar

Mistika VR - Import Settings
Hi everyone, I am trying to import multiple iPhone17Pro clips (prores4K) into Mistika for a stitch. I get the files in and use PTgui for the stitch. When I import the 4K files into Mistika they are quite small in the workspace. I have tried multiple project resolutions, but the outcome is the same. I understand that there will always be block on the top since I am stitching multiple cameras in a horizontal position, but I would at least expect the width to be maxed out. I am sure I do not have a setting accurate set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Warper LatLong mesh for morphing transition on equirectangular contents ?
Hi Max, Thanks a lot for reaching out and for your detailed explanation — it really helps us understand your workflow and what you’re aiming to achieve with 360° content in Boutique. At the moment, the Warper effect doesn’t offer a native latitude/longitude-based mesh grid, as it’s designed primarily for standard image projections. However, there are a couple of approaches you could try to approximate that workflow: You can increase the mesh density (add more grid points) in Warper, using the "New Mesh" option and manually adjust the distortion to match your equirectangular content. As a visual reference, we recommend using a latlong checkerboard pattern under your shot — this can help you align the distortions more accurately when working with spherical footage. While these steps don’t replicate a true lat/long mapping yet, they can help you achieve a smoother morph between your 360° shots. We’ve also shared your feedback internally with our development team, I'll add this functionality to the feature request list so developers can take a look at it and evaluate it's future implementation. Best regards, Cesar

Warper LatLong mesh for morphing transition on equirectangular contents ?
Hi BT team, To create a perfect transition between 2 360° shot (rolling car shots), I create a morphing transition with Warper effect in Boutique. I usually use vertical and horizontal mesh grid. So, do you think it could be possible to have a real latitude and longitudinal mesh grid to process easily equirectangular contents in the Warper interface ? Thanks, Reagrds.

On my side the sub menues don't appear. Like "Notes" -> where I then can select "delete all notes". In addition (this is for quite sime time an issue), the "rnd" files seem to be broken. When executing the "batch" files (created by write script only) I always get some error with "Curve::getChoice...". (In Console) And the video is broken/black. This happens when using more than one "VR View". (The part with the second VR View (if positioned later in the timeline) produces a black video. But also when using one and the selection exceeds the VR View effect. A Color-Grade effect causes some warnings when starting up the render process (just don't remember the text).
