jeff@dungeonbeach.com
I hope everyone at SGO is staying safe. We are in disbelief reading in the news about the lockdown in Spain. I'm actually grading my first commercial project in Mistika Boutique, and because of the corona virus, my client has asked to do the final review remotely instead of in person at my studio. More than understandable. Does Boutique have remote grading functionality? I was reading about the live stream functionality (leveraging the NVidia GPU encoder with something like YouTube Live), but actually it's only available in Mistika Ultima, right? And there would probably be some delay anyway--too much for a proper grading session with client feedback. I think since my session is on Tuesday I may just use zoom (regular screen sharing that is not high quality). Of course it is not ideal because the client will see the entire interface, and I will have to keep toggling to full screen (what's the shortcut again for that???). No rush to reply. Stay safe. Cristobal Bolaños
Hi Jeff! Thanks a lot for the kind words. We are safe and sound ? Yes, I understand your client's concerns. However, I'm afraid that, as you say, currently in Mistika Boutique there's no streaming function available. The shortcut for Full Screen is Control+PageUp. If you are more comfortable with other shortcut, you can change it, if you go to the Edit Users Mode, and open the hotkeys Editor, you need to seek for the Monitor > Record > Window > Maximize, parameter. There you can edit it! However, take into account that Shortcuts in Mistika work depending on the tab in which the focus is set. Let me explain this through, please. Mistika is huge, and there are different shortcuts for different parts of the interface. You have shortcuts for the Visual Editor, the Timeline, the effects tab, and the record monitor. So, if you want to use the shortcuts of that area, you need to place the mouse, which set the focus on top of it. In conclusion, to maximize the Record Monitor, you need to first set the mouse on top of it, and then use the shortcut. I know this can be a bit cumbersome, that's why I suggest, if you have the possibility, to use Two Screens for your remote session. That way, you can use TeamViewer or Anydesk software, and your client will be able to see both screens at the same time. I hope you find this information useful. Cheers, Cristóbal

If you use Zoom, if you have (or can get) and AJA ATap, you can take the SDI signal from the FSI and feed it to Zoom as a camera feed. I've done this on several occasions. That's better than sharing your GUI screen. If you can to keep doing it, then you can look into other streaming platforms more geared to our industry (like Streambox, etc). There was a thread on LGG discussing them. But most of them require more expensive hardware and/or subscriptions.
