  1. Hi Jan

yes when pressing control shift and middle muse click on the image you get the color picker attributes of the pixel. on all the scopes and on the image.

    cheers Yoav.

  2. HI all

I use the output curve gamma 2.2 and the output gamut on rec709

this gives me the best of both world.

But i use unicolor just for transforming between color spaces. mostly P3 to Rec709

From log_c to Rec 709 i use lots or color grade hand made luts.

PS: don't know if you remember that you can use Lut's inside a Color Grade Vector (layer)

Vector > Grade Inside/outside > Lut > go to option and you can change the opacity.

    Hope it Help

I'll add one more, maybe simpler fix for the story board.

I'm just working on a commercial that was shot with three different cameras. There's a lot of copying back and forth in the storyboard between individual cameras.

I thought to make things simpler, I would sort the clips from different cameras on separate tracks and then hide tracks selectively to filter the story board so I would only see clips from one camera at time. It works partially, the hidden tracks all show up as black thumbnails, so at least I can ignore them. But it doesn't condense the story board, I still have to skip all the black clips. So it would be nice if the storyboard could ignore disabled or hidden clips as one easy way of filtering.

    HI There Jan

    +1 from me

I also ask the sgo team to try and set the option of getting into solo mode in the storyboard gang . by pressing the thumbnail  and a shortcut.

i just can add to your situation that maybe extending the storyboard view to full will give you the ability to view a lot of thumbnails at once

and by click and double click you can copy grades from shot to shot.

    Hey!

The Mistika default mapping is designed for six element units. I agree with Jan that another Knobs panel is not necessary. However, another Bt unit comes really in handy specially for the use of Printer Lights in the Primary grading. The third Bt unit, mapped for the Presets and History, can be somehow compensated with a proper use of the keyboard, since you can "map" fx presets with the numeric keyboard. If you need to know how, let me know ?

However, as Jan said, all buttons are fully customizable, you can make your own mapping.

There's this threat in the forums in which Jan kindly shared his mapping. Maybe you can share yours if you decide to do your own!

    Cheers!

    HI Cristóbal

Do you know if the Tangent Mapper work also on linux with ultima?

and if so should i contact support?

    thanks Yoav

  5. Hi Jan

i agree with you that it could help having such sort button

    my workaround is

1- i duplicate the seq or just the scene and in the edit tub select -Macros/Linearize- this will sort the clips by timcode.

i grade the shots and Copy / Smart Past to old sequence.

2- this option is done only when i know that the shots are from the same master clip. i use it not only for grading but also for framing or unicolor or other stuff that can help

me Bild my timeline. i create a sequence with all the original shots with all the handles. apply the grade or framing and again Copy / Smart Past to old sequence.

    Hope it help

    Cheers Yoav

  6. Hi there Jan

    I can add to Cristóbal

that when using this technic on a color vector you also have the option of using bland mode blur over or blur under.

Another thing is that in the option tub.  using defocus with a combination of negativ bland you get sharpen effect.

    Hope it helps

    Yoav

  7. Hi Jan

    that's it

instead of connect you can use alt drag the connection and it dose the same.

    and just ofew more tips

1- is using the reveal back tool on old film or video restoration is like magic.

remove dust and scratches very simple.

2- using the repair frame FX is like this tool but much more functions and very advanced optical flow magic.

    hope it helps

    cheers Yoav

  8. Hi jan

you have few ways of doing so

1- after you have the track and Clone in your paint FX.

You clone the stack and replace the paint FX with a new one that embrace both stacks. In that new paint FX you choose (repair with virtual frame) automatically it will change the tool to reveal back. And now whichever frame you are at, using the brush will recover the area without the previous clone. No need for applying tracking or anything just go to next frame and use brush again. Pics attached

2- doing the same thing but with color effect and using a mask and recover 2nd input at the option tub. This will need you to move the mask with auto key or a different tracking for that mask.

For sure there are few more options using Alfa and mates. And more

This are my most commonly used.

    Hope it helps

    cheers Yoav.

  9. HI Brandon and Jan

    1-

    Feedback

Activates constant updating of the evaluation. When this option is turned off, the image is only evaluated when a manipulator is released or the dragging of a value from the Parameters area is stopped, but it will not be evaluated during modification.

If deactivated, the Keyframe Slider will also cease to update the image until a frame is released.

When the effects are complex, it is advisable to deactivate this option, to avoid delays due to constant evaluation during the modifications.

    2-

    Live Video by default

    [False (True / False)]

Sets the SDI video output as default when opening Mistika.

    3-

    Mute Video

Deactivates the image evaluation of all the monitor marks.

    hope it helps

    cheers Yoav

  10. HI JAN

Yes indeed mConfig settings for r3d by default is 1/2 rez.

You can leave the mConfig as it is. and change the rez in the raw params fx on the clip

and propagate to all clips only that parameter.

    Cheers Yoav

  11. Hi jan

I had the same behavior on linox Mistika ultima.

Workaround was render in mocha and export dpx from mocha. And import the rendered clip.

Make sure you save mocha project and create separate folders to the renders so you could  go beck to mocha for tweaks or changes.

    Cheers Yoav.

  12. Hi Jan

    I’m afraid it’s not a bug.

    This is how it works.

Each shape should be selected and pasted.

When you select a shape and it already has a tracking data pasted you will see green rectangles on the little timeline this indicates that the tracking data is pasted.

    Cheers Yoav.

  13. Hi All

    Cristóbal Way is very good.

I can add to that method to use the paint effect on the freez frame under the group. so basically i don't need to select all shapes and or select all frames because there is only one frame. I fins it easier for Mistika to play reel time like that.

For Craig Q the answer is yes you need to select each stroke by itself. and that's how you can copy tracks.

    cheers Yoav

  14. Hi Craig

There  are 4 steps i use after i clone an object and press select.

1- double click on that shape to select it.

    2- press current frame

    3- press selected shape

    4- copy tracks

    Hope it Helps

    Cheers Yoav

  15. Hi there Craig

    you basically do the tracking.

And apply the tracking data to the paint effect  as you apply tracking to all effects  (move) the data

Than in paint effect you clone the image and in the effect you select the paint or clone you did. Press selected shapes and then press copy tracks.

This apply the track to that shape. You should repeat selecting shapes and copy tracks for all the paint stroke

    Cheers Yoav.

  16. Hi there Jan

We do map the Chanel’s separately

you need to put them one on top of the other. And arrange them like

    L,R,C,LTR,LS,Rs

were L is the top most.

If you need you can split stereo to 2 mono by brake audio in the edit tab

and then in the audio router

    1/2 change left and right.

    3/4 also left and right

    5/6 left and right

Now when you export it will be the correct surround layout.

    Hope it help

    cheers Yoav
